My company hired Jeremy V. to create a logo design for our construction business. I searched online for reviews and was unable to find much. From his portfolio it seemed that his work was good and initially the communication was excellent, so we hired him. He was quick to respond (email) and clear about when ideas would be coming my way. We initially provided him with a presentation of logo ideas made by our team including styles we would like to see mimicked. When he sent us the first round of ideas, we were surprised and disappointed. The logos were basically tidied up versions of our worst ideas. They were also sloppy. We asked for him to totally disregard our ideas and use his own creativity. The second round of revisions were equally disappointing. The designs were basically monograms, very sloppy monograms. Some of the concepts didn’t even look like the correct letters of our company’s name! We responded to round 2 by asking if he could make something more creative than a simple monogram (because we could have done one of those ourselves). 3rd round we received…more monograms. That was enough for us. I let him know that his ideas were lacking the creativity we were hoping for in a designer. He responded by saying he was out of ideas, basically working for minimum wage, and needing more direction from us (reminder: we provided an entire presentation of ideas to him). This was the first time in my life I have heard an artist claim to be out of ideas. Such a waste of time for our company! If you are looking for a designer, this isn’t your guy.
